 Not long ago, I began sorting through boxes of books and documents which have been stored away for years.   I came across my high school graduation yearbook, and read the caption under my picture which declared “Ronnie is most likely to succeed as a real estate tycoon”.  I had forgotten that note.
I now remember wondering at the time, where they got that notion from. 
It wasn't until many years later when I started to make my own investments in real estate, that I began to understand what my school mates understood well before I did.
My father Felix had been a successful land developer in Montreal ...so much so, that the township where I grew up was popularly known as “Fraserville.”  Imagine That!
Real Estate investment successfully financed a good living for my mom and dad even through the difficult great depression years, and beyond as they raised and educated their five sons (I'm number five).
It still amazes me to think how oblivious I was to my surroundings at that tender age.
When I took the official leap of faith (so to speak) and became a licensed Realtor in 1989, my brother Fil stated,  "You have finally come full circle to the career you were meant to follow."
In fact, I have been an entrepreneur and salesman throughout my adult life.   My varried careers have taken me from "selling myself" as a teenage and early twenties stage and recording  studio performer -  through a 12 year stint as the “first” person of colour to be hired to in-flight service at our country's national airline -  to a gutsy Vancouver restauranteur -  followed by a position in educational computer sales and marketing to Ontario and Western Canada school districts.
To become a licensed Realtor in 1989 meant giving up any other gainful employment, to dedicate oneself to real estate....and only real estate. For better or for worse, that qualification has now been rescinded.
Being a Realtor continues to stimulate and energize me beyond my wildest expectations. The challenges of selling a difficult property...the emotion I share when I help a client find their way home...the feeling I get when I know I have done my job well. These are the basics I remember every day as I continue to serve my clients in the best way I can.
When I began writing this piece, my goal was to develop a "catchy web site slogan."  One which I could comfortably use, and call my own.
I have come to think that when one line means so much.....My Slogan is for you to decide upon. Now, the choice is yours.
